SUMMER UPDATE JUNE 4Th - New schedules and protocols (Also sent via email)

We are very excited to be reaching out to you to let you know that soccer will begin next week. The NS stage one opening plan allows us to get all of our players out on the field! Kick off night is Wednesday, June 9th.

With that said, there are some significant changes and protocols that you need to know before we get started.

  • Players and coaches must be in cohorts of no more than 10. That means there will be several small cohorts of players on the field that cannot mix. They must enter and exit from their location on the field. This entrance/exit plan will remain in effect until we transition into Stage 2. Stage 2 permits us to have groups of up to 25.

  • Players must wear a mask when not in their 10 player cohort—entering, exiting etc.

  • You must complete covid checks before coming to the field. If your player has any symptoms, please stay home from practice. See attached Covid check sheet. When you arrive at the field area for practice, a volunteer will meet the players to ask if they have done their covid checks.

  • At the first practice, a volunteer will greet you and your player at the Health check table to direct them to their group leader.

  • Players must sanitize when arriving. Therefore, the sanitizer will be available as they enter the field.

  • Unfortunately, at this stage, there are no spectators allowed at the field. You are welcome to stay but must remain over in the parking area.

  • There is a 15-minute time slot between practices so that the teams entering and exiting do not overlap. Therefore, please do not arrive early. If you do, please wait in your car until the previous players have left. In addition, we ask that you are punctual for pick-up times as well.

  • Washrooms will be available this summer; unfortunately, portable toilets cannot arrive until the school year ends. Therefore, there will be no washroom facilities during June; please use the washroom before arriving. Apologies for this inconvenience.

  • Equipment required includes shin guards and either cleats or sneakers. Do not worry too much about cleats right away but where some players do have cleats, shin guards are very important. We also have some cleats that have been donated to us. The first night we can have a look and see if any might fit players starting this year. If you have any cleats you would like to add to the collection, we will happily find them a new home.

Age Specific Details for June

U5 - Practices will be Monday and Wednesday nights from 5-6 pm. With the small groupings required, we are looking to see if any parents would be willing to assist on the field. Although all activities and games are planned and led by our summer students, we need someone to help monitor the activities so that those employees can circulate between all of the groups.

U7 - Practices will be Monday and Wednesday nights from 6:15-7:15 pm. All games and activities are planned and led by our summer students; however, if there is anyone else who would be willing to help us facilitate the smaller groups required at this time, please let us know.  We currently have one parent who has offered to assist our coaches.
